Aerial View Shows Extent of Damage Caused by Deadly Flood Killing Thousands in Libya’s Derna

Drone video shot on Sept. 14 shows the extent of devastation in the Libyan city of Derna, after heavy storms caused two dams to burst, flooding the city and sweeping away entire neighborhoods. Libyan authorities demanded an investigation into whether human failings were to blame for thousands of deaths in the worst natural disaster in the country’s modern history. The Libyan Red Crescent said Thursday that the death toll from the floods had soared to 11,300, as search efforts continued.
