Two Delta Air Lines employees were killed and another injured early Tuesday morning at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in Georgia.

Delta said it was working with authorities to investigate what happened at the wheel and brake shop facility.

“The Delta family is heartbroken at the loss of two team members and the injury of another following an incident this morning at the Atlanta Technical Operations Maintenance facility,” Delta said in a statement provided to The Epoch Times. “We have extended our full support to family members and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.

“The Delta family is grateful for the quick action of first responders and medical teams on site.”

Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens said on social media platform X that the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, Atlanta Police Department, and airport officials have responded and are “working diligently to address the situation.”

“I offer my deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased Delta employees,” he said. “My thoughts are also with those who were injured, and I hope for their swift and full recovery.”

Delta TechOps Chief of Operations John Laughter issued a statement to the TechOps team in which he said he’s “deeply saddened” over the accident that killed two people and left one injured.

“We are extending our full support to their families at this difficult time and conducting an investigation to determine what happened,” Mr. Laughter said. “This is heartbreaking news for all of us.”
