Two people have died after a driver plowed into a Minnesota restaurant’s patio on Sept. 1, authorities said.

The incident occurred just after 8 p.m. when a vehicle was “driven into the outside patio area” of Park Tavern in St. Louis Park, the St. Louis Park Police Department said.

Three more people were injured in the crash, the department said in a Facebook post.

Police have not identified the driver, who has only been described as male. Surveillance footage showed the man pulling into the parking lot where he was attempting to park before he plowed into the patio. The man did not enter the Tavern at any stage.

The identities of the victims have not been released either. The driver was arrested for criminal vehicular homicide.

The department said that the Minnesota State Patrol remained on the scene following the crash to conduct accident reconstruction for the investigation.

St. Louis Park Police Department is being assisted by the Hopkins, Minnetonka, and Wayzata police departments and the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.

Park Tavern issued a notice to customers on its website, saying the restaurant will remain closed until further notice as care is provided to its staff and neighbors.

Park Tavern prides itself on being a landmark in St. Louis Park, having served customers for over six decades.

“Proud of our humble beginnings as a 3.2-tavern with room for only 50 guests, Park Tavern has grown to become a Twin Cities destination, hosting events for up to 500 people. It brings up great joy to see multiple generations of families enjoying themselves here,” according to the establishment’s website.
