A ride at an Australian theme park malfunctioned on Tuesday stranding 13 people mid-air.
The passengers were riding the Vortex at Sea World on the Gold Coast when it stopped due to a “sensor communication fault,” a park official said in a statement.
They were given water and provided with umbrellas to protect them from the heat, local media reported.
After about 90 minutes, the park’s engineering team manually lowered the ride and the passengers were helped off safely, the park’s official said.
No injuries were reported.
