U-Haul’s 2020 migration list has Tennessee at the top for the first time ever. A year ago, it was number 12 in U-Haul’s growth rankings. And it’s the first time since 2015 that Florida or Texas haven’t topped the list.
After Tennessee, U-haul’s top ten destinations to move to include Texas, Florida, Ohio, Arizona, Colorado, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, and Georgia.
U-Haul calculates growth by comparing how many one-way rentals enter each state versus leave it in a calendar year. California, Illinois, New Jersey, and Massachusetts are at the bottom of the list. Those states grew the least in 2020.
