Paris: Tribute to Slain Teacher One Year On

In France, it’s been one year since an attack that shocked the nation. Residents of Paris gathered on Oct. 16 to honor slain teacher Samuel Paty, who was beheaded by a radical Islamist in 2020. A sculpture of an open book with cartoons celebrating freedom of speech was unveiled in a ceremony attended by hundreds, including the French education minister.
