Deliveries of medical aid for the hostages in Gaza, as well as for civilians on the ground there, have entered the Gaza Strip after a deal was negotiated between Israel and the Hamas terrorist organization by Qatar and France.
NTD spoke to Alex Traiman, Jerusalem bureau chief and CEO of the Jewish News Syndicate, to find out more about the aid shipments into Gaza.
“Hamas wants to show that it is able to deliver something for its constituents,” said Mr. Traiman. “I mean, they literally just brought the worst death and destruction on their civilian population that’s ever been seen inside the Gaza Strip, and you have a growing animosity toward Hamas that this is what they brought for their people.
“And so here, they’re trying to demonstrate that they can bring some sort of humanitarian assistance,” he said. “The hope is that this initial deal, which is for the distribution of medication, could later lead to another deal which might see the return of the hostages to Israel.”
