The president of Columbia University announced Monday that all students must vacate the anti-Israel encampment or face suspension. Tensions continued to rise across college campuses, threatening to shut down final exams and commencements.
House lawmakers began markup of the Antisemitism Awareness Act. The bill would redefine what forms of speech are punishable under federal anti-discrimination laws. It would require the Department of Education to use the definition of anti-Semitism from the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.
The Biden administration called on the Hamas terrorist group to accept Israel’s latest cease-fire proposal, which could potentially suspend a planned ground invasion of Rafah. Separately, the administration also found five Israeli security units responsible for human rights violations committed before the outbreak of the war and outside Gaza.
Texas and Louisiana sued the Biden administration for changing Title IX, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex. The Biden administration expanded the scope to include gender identity, which could open the door for biological men in women’s sports.
