Allies Urge Deescalation in Iran’s ‘Unprecedented’ Attack on Israel

Iran’s unprecedented attack against Israel included more than 300 drones and missiles, nearly all of which were shot down. State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller said on April 15 the attack violated the sovereignty of other countries.

The Biden administration wants to de-escalate the conflict, as tensions have heightened since the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks against Israel. The terrorist group rejected the latest proposal by Israel and its allies for a deal that would lead to a cease-fire and the freeing of hostages.
