President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump both accepted an invitation from CNN to debate on June 27. A second debate hosted by ABC will take place Sept. 10. This foregoes the traditional fall debates set by the Commission on Presidential Debates.

Prosecutors in President Trump’s New York trial say they will not call any more witnesses. This means the prosecution’s case is nearing an end, and the defense will soon get a chance to make theirs. President Trump’s attorneys will continue to cross-examine star witness Michael Cohen Thursday.

The House Judiciary Committee held a hearing on the weaponization of the federal government. It mostly focused on Mr. Cohen’s credibility as a witness in the New York trial.

The prime minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico, was shot in an assassination attempt while visiting a small town in his country. He is being treated at a hospital and is in extremely serious condition. A suspect is a custody and authorities said there was “clear political motivation.”
