A Father and Son’s Journey Back to Auschwitz
“Shmuel’s Bridge: Following the Tracks to Auschwitz with My Survivor Father” is a poetically written memoir about a man and his aging father journeying back to Auschwitz to retrace his father’s footsteps during the Holocaust, and find the bridge where his father’s youngest brother was killed trying to escape the Nazis.
Jason Sommer is an award-winning American poet and the author of five collections of poetry. “Shmuel’s Bridge: Following the Tracks to Auschwitz with My Survivor Father” is his debut book. He is a former Stanford University Stegner Fellow and has also held a Whiting Foundation Writers’ Fellowship.
